A podcast on home as medicine

The Prescription
Is Home

“In times such as these, how can homes, when connected, shape community power and collective transformation?”

Home is not property or ownership. It is continuity, relationship, memory, practice, and belonging. Companion to the landmark exhibition of the same name, this show enters real households in Washington, DC — Anacostia and communities east of the river — to find the medicine already practiced there, and to leave with a prescription.

What this show is

Seven capacities, already practiced at home

We read home through the seven M’s — each framed as our capacity to. When these capacities connect across homes, they become a Municipality: the community’s capacity to govern what it built together. The larger outcome is Sovereignty.

Season One

The Homes

This season visits real families in their homes to discover which of the seven capacities live there — and the prescription each home has to teach the world. Every episode closes with it.
